1931 Mercedes Benz SSKL #8, CMC Limited Edition, 1/18 Scale, Very Rare, CMC # M-082.
The 1931 Mercedes-Benz SSKL Number 8 was in the 1931 German Grand Prix. The SSKL (Super-Sport-Kurz-Leicht) was a special version of the 720 SSK race car with a lighter chassis.
The SSKL was also raced to victory by Rudolf Caracciola in the 1931 Mille Miglia, a 1,000-mile road race through Italy. Caracciola and his co-driver Wilhelm Sebastian averaged 101.1 kilometers per hour in the race, which was the first time a non-Italian driver won the event.
The SSKL was one of the most powerful and exciting sports cars of its time. It was designed by Ferdinand Porsche, who later went on to start his own company.
