The fifth series of the Rolls Royce Phantom was presented in 1959. Some technical innovations characterized this model, which adopted a new 6230cc V8 engine. The Phantom V remained in production until 1968, with many prestige variants, including the Park Ward Limousine. The new VI series, in production since 1968, kept the same engine as the V series.
