The Chrysler Imperial was in the Corgi program for only two years - from 1965 to 1967 - and had a unique and ingenious "secret" mechanism to open the bonnet. By pressing the front axle down, the bonnet opened just so far that it could be raised. This Corgi classic also had doors to open, tilting seats, two figures (whereby the passenger was significantly smaller than the driver) and a trunk that could be opened to reveal a set of golf clubs and a caddy. Interestingly, a variant of the Chrysler Imperial appeared as a "Bermuda Taxi" in the 1969 Corgi catalog. This unusual variant received the Corgi number 507 and was unfortunately never taken into production.
