Corgi #506: Sunbeam Imp ‘Panda’ Police Car
This #506 Sunbeam Imp ‘Panda’ police car model was released in 1969 and was available for only 3 years until 1972. A total of 144,000 cars were made. The car was released in a total of three different color variations of which this is the second, I believe. You can see them in the picture from the Great Book of Corgi. That is the next-to-last photo and DOES NOT depict the car we are selling, while all the other photos do.
This car has a fully functioning rear hatch. It is a transparent piece of plastic that swings up on a double hinge and stays up nicely. The open hatch gives you access to the interior of the car so you could fill it up with policeman and their prisoners, if you like. The backseats appear to be permanently folded down. Things like the steering wheel and seats and the blue siren on top are all intact and the suspension on the car works quite well.
