I need to clear some space on my shelves, so I need to part with some of my collection. If you spent any time in Europe from 1950 to the end of the century, you must have seen these Citroën CV economy cars on the roads. They started out as popular and cheap transportation for the masses but survived many decades through an enthusiastic fan base. In the 80s, Citroën brought to market more stylish versions with striking paint jobs like the yellow & black Charleston in the box art.

I found a handful of listings for this kit on eBay (mostly from France, duh!), but as a Top Rated Plus US Seller, I have this in stock and can reliably ship this to you quickly. Here are some of the details about this awesome kit that I found from around the web:

The revell.de website has a very nice page for this kit that shows a photo and a short video of a finished model, along with the following information about the car and the many kit features:

In 1948, the 2CV was presented to the public for the first time. Citroën offered with the puristic, inexpensive small car, which was easy to maintain and easy to use, a robust mass vehicle for the people, which had a very good suspension according to the thinly developed road network. From 1981, when the 2 CV had long since become a cult object, a two-tone version appeared in series production, the burgundy-black 2 CV 6 Charleston, which was followed by a yellow-black version from September 1982, both equipped with air-cooled 0.6-liter two-cylinder Boxer engine and 29 hp of power. According to the original, the kit offers chrome-plated hubcaps, the typical chrome-plated headlights as well as a multi-part engine and, of course, a movable bonnet.

•         Faithfully reproduced body with fine surface structures

•         Separate, movable bonnet

•         Multi-part, detailed engine with separate exhaust system

•         Detailed interior with instrument panel, front and rear seats

•         Can be built with an open or closed roof

•         Movable wheels with rubber-like tires

•         Lower half of the front side windows can be built either folded up or closed

•         Various chrome parts, including hubcaps, door handles and headlights

•         Instructions and authentic decals with different license plates (D, NL, I, GB, B)

Scalemates.com shows this is a new tooling from 2011 that has been the basis of about a half-dozen kits since then. There is a link to download the complete 16-page instruction set and painting guide and many links to reviews and colorful photo galleries of completed models.

Andreas Eichendorff published a short First Look Reviews on the German-language ipmsdeutschland.de site that shows each of the sprues laid out, along with the decals and tires. He expects the assembly to go smoothly, and his Conclusion is: “Super kit of an already legendary small car”.

Markus Berger did a very thorough In-Box Review on the German-language modellversium.de site. He shows you each sprue and part, including the tires and exceptional decal sheet. He lists the highlights of the kit as: opening bonnet (hood), detailed multi-part engine and interior, roof that can be built open or closed and cleanly printed decals. His summary was: “Revell has launched a real classic with the new, very detailed, kit of the Citroen 2CV. Later you get a beautiful model for your showcase.”

You have many choices for Unboxing Videos on YouTube. The shortest, at about 9 minutes, is by Markus68scale (the author of the In-Box Review above). He pulls everything out, but the video is not hi-def and the narration is in German. The next longest (around 19 minutes) is by Modelkit Beginner with an interesting narration by a South African. You get a good view of the parts and his cat! A longer (>19 minutes) review by the German-speaking Uwe's Modellbau Kanal shows the parts with a little better resolution. The longest review (>23 minutes) comes from Modelling craftsman and it is also in German. It looks very professional and he points out many things (I just don’t know if it was good things or bad things).

This kit is in an attractive box about 14” x 8” x 2.5”. As you can see from the pictures, the package is in great shape and still sealed with two big tape disks, so it is factory sealed and absolutely gift-ready.

This item contains one complete injection molded plastic model kit with over 120 white, light grey, medium grey, clear and chrome plastic parts, rubber tires, roof fabric and a very nice set of decals, along with a 16-page instruction book to bring this cult favorite to life. It requires cement and paint to complete as shown. I use eBay Managed Payments, but I no longer ship internationally. Auction winner pays winning bid and for a limited time, this large item is offered with $8 Flat Rate Shipping in the US!

No reserve and a low starting bid. Check out my other great auctions for combined shipping. Good luck!

Those familiar with my listings can tell that I really enjoy these products and the modeling hobby. I like to provide more than just the bare facts about the items, trying to lead you into discovering more about the subjects and optimizing your builds (if that is your goal). I started out picking up models that I was interested in, with the eye toward building them when I had time. Always a bargain-hunter, I accumulated many more than I can build, so I found myself in a Collector status (sounds nicer than a hoarder).

As I am sure you have noticed, my items are almost always sealed and in mint condition (I call them Gift-Ready), since I only open them when I am ready to build them. Now I enjoy making these products available to my fellow modelers; both Builders and Collectors. For the Builders, there are probably better (at least cheaper) ways to add to your project lists than buying from me, but you know you are getting top quality. For Collectors, my goal is to save you a few bucks over the competition for the same item in factory sealed and collectible (or resellable) condition.
