Kyosho original 1/18 Fiat Nuova 500 (green clear).

The Fiat Nuova 500 is now available in a 1/18 scale and new model.
The reproduction of the engine and luggage room is also a highlight.

Loved as Italy's national car for 18 years from 1957 to 1975, the second-generation Fiat 500 is one of the world's most famous cars of the 20th century, alongside the German VW Beetle and the British Mini.

Its official name is Nuova500, and Nuova means new in Italian.

This is because the Fiat 500 affectionately known as the Topolino is counted as the first generation.

In other words, the current 500, which is very popular in Japan, is the third generation (sometimes called the fourth generation).
The Prima Serie was the first model released for only a few months in July 1957, and was only available in a convertible body.

It was a simple model with thorough cost-cutting measures, with two front seats (a bench seat was also available if necessary), side windows that were not movable except for the triangular windows, and no decoration on the body.

The engine was a 497 air-cooled inline 2-cylinder OHV mounted in the rear, and while it had an output of 13.5hp, the lightweight body weighing less than 500kg made it a light and nimble ride.

However, although the package was highly praised, the pursuit of good cost performance was too much, and sales were sluggish as it was too simple.

Repenting from this, a model with improved functionality and comfort was released, which became an explosive hit.
